Default SGR Colchester Announces 'Ghostbusters 3'

Yes, they did. A Colchester radio station has announced that Charlotte Church is going to play the female lead and only two of the original Ghostbusters will be in the film.

Personally I'm highly dubious, but that's just me. I fail to understand how on Earth a UK local radio station could get the news before GBN.

But that as may be, a friend of mine has requested that I post this announcement and ask for any response.

I'm happy to report that Charlotte Church's IMDb page does not list 'Ghostbusters 3' among her few film talents.

Not that I'd want her, mind you... spoilt little prima donna...

That's okay, my radio station just announced GB3 is in the works with Ben Stiller in talks as he is a Ramis favorite.

Basically, they took the article that became fact on the internet news outlets and made it into real news.

I posted this in the Ramis feed, but thought it would go well here too. Just posted today on MSN.

Christ almighty, this is snowballing out of proportion.

Edit: Blitzed the idea over at Insomniac Mania... sadly.

Edit II: And I emailed the 'Bizarre' team at The Sun with the following email:

Quote:
Dear 'Bizarre' team,
It's my unfortunate duty to inform you that you have jumped the gun in your recent article: Stiller for Ghostbusters?

Stiller was originally of consideration alongside Comedian Chris Farley, who has been dead since 1997 and all plans for a third Ghostbusters movie, despite being a popular idea, have been shelved, most likely permanently.

In Focus Magazine held an interview with Harold Ramis in which it was asked what the plans had been for Ghostbusters III, but sites like www.hollywood.com took the article out of context, and posted it as fact.

While it would please us Ghostbusters fans nothing more then to have a complete trilogy, a third movie is as unlikely as Bill Murray agreeing to make Ghostbusters 3.

I close with a link to the In Focus article:

http://www.infocusmag.com/05november/ramisuncut.htm

Yours Sincerely,
Ben King

Grrr... heavens forbid The Sun should have working email addresses... I was forced to put it in their 'letters' email, so if you see anything by Ben King, and about the 'Bizarre' team getting it wrong on Ghostbusters III, that was me...

I know how absurd it is, believe you me.....but, perhaps we look on the bright side.....

Perhaps a little positive reaction could send a nice message to you-know-who at the you-know-what company....? I mean, when all of the radio stations are blaring how exciting it's gonna be, maybe someone might take notice.

Big effect? Nope. But little steps? I'd like to think so.

I'm sure no one thought you believed it, Iain. We're all well aware of the stupidity of the vast majority of people in this world (yes, you are one of the exceptions). It's never going to happen. But perhaps it was cruel to the more optimistic fans for you to label this thread as you did.

Ben, that was a nice cutting letter.
